Postal Stamp Auctions

Welcome to the website for De Montfort Stamp Co.

I would like to add my continued thanks to all the bidders and vendors for making my auctions continue to grow and offer such a wide and varied range of material.

The catalogue for my current auction number 83 closing 18 May 2018 is now available in the postal auction section of the website. Scans will be added over the next few days, if you wish to receive a scan of a lot please let me know. A pdf catalogue and bid form can be downloaded from the home page.

Auction 83 has a vast array of material including 100+ lots (lot 76 to 177) of Great Britain Post Office Training School items overprinted School Specimen. This material is rarely seen especially in such quantity and is particularly strong in Postal orders (further parts of this collection will be in my July and September 2018 auction). There are good ranges of banknotes and for the first time a coin, this from 1797 (lots 48 to 75). Great Britain includes 1d black plate 11, with faults but reasonably reserved along with other good ranges of Queen Victoria Line Engraved and Surface Printed along with good range of mint and used KGV Sea Horses. There is an excellent range of 1948 Royal Silver Wedding issues (lots 238 to 276)including 15 top values in unmounted mint blocks of 4 plus some very fine used examples. Bermuda lots 369 to 427 includes a nice selection of varieties especially on QEII issues. There are also some better selections of British Solomon Islands, Cook Islands QEII imperfs, Cyprus, Hong Kong including KGVI $10 green & violet lightly mounted mint SG161 (lot 819), Malta KGV 1 black & carmine unmounted mint block of 4 SG140 (lot 895). Revenues include Belgium Telephone proofs in sheetlets of 10 plus good Cayman Islands, India and Iraq. The Non Commonwealth section includes usual good ranges of France, Germany and Italy with some interestin Iceland and Japan plus a nice cover from Russian Post Office in Hankow China (lot 1301). Postal History includes range of 1935 Silver Jubilee covers along with a good range of Commonwealth covers having full definitive sets applied.

If you require a scan of any lot not illustrated please let me know and I will provide the information. Should you require any further information about this auction or any other matter please contact me by your preferred method. THERE IS NO BUYERS PREMIUM.

At present I do not require any material for my next two auctions due to the volume of material supplied by my vendors, for this I thank you. Should you have material to sell please advise by email and I will see what I can do to assist. I would once again like to thank all vendors and bidders for their continued support.
